FiiO SR11 launches as affordable audio streamer with AirPlay and Roon Ready support

FiiO launched an affordable solution to bring lossless streaming capabilities to your audio streaming setup. Costing $99, the FiiO SR11 lets you stream music from different services, including Tidal, Spotify, and Amazon Music, when connected to a hi-fi system, active speakers, or radio.

For those who want more options for streaming audio, the SR11 has support for Roon Ready and AirPlay. The former allows you to stream audio from an offline NAS drive, while the latter allows you to stream wirelessly from an Apple device. You can pair this FiiO audio streamer with a tablet, laptop, or phone to conveniently control the playback. Alternatively, you can just use the bundled remote control.

Thanks to the dual-band WiFi chip inside, the FiiO SR11 can ensure stable streaming. You can also rely on the built-in Ethernet port for a more reliable connection. Speaking of the ports, for output, the audio streaming device sports USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and optical coaxial.

It has support for DSD256 and 32-bit/768 KHz files, and there's a built-in LCD that displays the network status, volume level, and the current operating mode. Worth noting that unlike the WiiM Pro, the FiiO SR11 doesn't have a built-in DAC. However, given the price and the features that it brings, FiiO's offering still stands as a solid audio streamer.

If you do want to complete the setup with a DAC, the identically-sized FiiO K11 pairs well with the SR11. Of course, this setup would increase the total cost to $228.99, $99 for the streamer and another $129.99 for the DAC and headphone amplifier.
