Echo Weaver time-loop metroidbrainia launches October 8

Echo Weaver, the time-loop metroidbrainia from Moonlight Kids, launches on October 8, 2026. Akupara Games is publishing the 2D platformer on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. It will also arrive on day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Moonlight Kids previously developed The Wild at Heart.
Secrets are your upgrades
Echo Weaver follows the knowledge-based approach that Moonlight Kids calls metroidbrainia. The protagonist, the last of the Weavers, has no gear to unlock. Every power is available from the start, and progress depends on what the player learns about hidden routes, shortcuts, and the logic of the world across repeated loops. The publisher pitches the game at fans of both Outer Wilds and Ori and the Blind Forest.
Time as a resource
The loop itself works as a consumable resource. Players grab pickups to extend it, then spend the remaining time to heal, trade, and open new routes. An alien glaive bound to the Weaver grants reality-bending abilities, and each reset gives players another chance to practice its movement and test new paths. The developer says the game favors rhythm and routing over raw reflexes, with the goal of charting one perfect loop to break free.
World and cast
The story takes place in the Gilded Ruin, where the last Weaver tries to rebuild paradise after the collapse of a utopian project. Survivors trapped in the loop include a pizza-slinging cat who guides players through the ruins, a cranky leader who protects refugees, and a cleric who preaches doom to anyone willing to listen.
