Colorful has introduced its Colorfire MEOW gaming laptop series for the global market. The brand launched the first model of the lineup in February of this year in China, and as we speculated in the Chinese launch coverage, the brand didn't showcase the Ryzen 7 7735H variant. After all, that's a China-exclusive CPU.
Instead, Colorful is showcasing both the MEOW R15 and R16 with AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, a top-end processor from the Hawk Point family. This CPU can be paired with up to RTX 4070 running with 140W TGP, so the gaming laptops should perform great on pretty much all games with the settings turned up.
On that note, these Colorful laptops aim to deliver stable performance even under heavy loads. They equip dual turbo fans that are paired with a 6-heatpipe solution. There's also performance control software, which lets you tune things according to preference.
As for the screen, the MEOW R15 is being showcased with a 15.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The MEOW 16 takes it up a notch, coming with a 16-inch IPS screen with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 2560x1600 pixels resolution. Both the displays are said to have 100% sRGB color coverage (2023 ProArt StudioBook 16 4060 curr. $2,145.99 on Amazon).
When it comes to the design, just like the name suggests, the laptops are cat-themed with subtle hints of orange. Colorful didn't say anything about the pricing or availability of the laptops.
