Leaker @geesgshock has posted images of two unreleased Casio references, the AMW-920L-1AV and AMW-920D-1AV, due in December. Both appear to put an analog-digital display in the octagonal MTP-B195 case, with a claimed 10-year battery and 50 m water resistance.

Casio is preparing an analog-digital version of its octagonal MTP-B195, according to leaker @geesgshock on Instagram. He posted images of two unreleased references on Instagram under the geesgshock account.

The watches are listed as the AMW-920L-1AV on a strap and the AMW-920D-1AV on a steel bracelet, both due in December. In the leaked image the pair get the faceted octagonal bezel and brushed linen dial of the existing model, down to the applied markers and the numerals at 12 and 6. The date window at 3 o’clock is gone, replaced by a digital display at 6 that reads the day and time beneath the hands.

@geesgshock describes the specifications as unconfirmed, and says the watches look to carry a mineral crystal, 50 meters of water resistance, an LED backlight, a timer, a stopwatch, world time and a ten-year battery.

The last figure specifically separates the two watches. The MTP-B195 runs Casio’s module 5361 with a quoted battery life of around three years, so the AMW-920 would need an entirely different module. The source expects the case dimensions to land close to the MTP-B195, which measures 38 mm across and 8.3 mm thick. A digital display and a decade of battery are a lot to fit into that depth.

The naming is the other oddity; @geesgshock flags it himself. AMW is Casio’s analog-digital family. It is currently represented by sporting models such as the AMW-870, while the octagonal MTP-B195 is the more dressier Casio Standard model. It's unclear why a watch built on that case arrives as an AMW rather than an MTP.

Casio has not announced either reference, no price has leaked; the source image is blurry as well.
