Casio's new solar-powered G-Shock launches in Japan with a 20% discount at select retailers

Casio's latest Luxe Black G-Shock went on sale in Japan on 7 November 2026, with retailer Time Station Neo listing the solar-powered watch for ¥34,320, a 20% reduction from its ¥42,900 recommended retail price. Tokyo Watch Style also confirms the release date and advertises the same discounted price.
A darker take on the classic octagonal G-Shock
The watch builds on Casio's familiar octagonal 2100-series design with a black ion-plated stainless-steel bezel, blue detailing around the glass and gunmetal-coloured hour markers. Metallic silver accents and a textured black bio-based resin strap complete the predominantly dark finish.
It also features Tough Solar charging and Bluetooth connectivity through the Casio Watches smartphone app, enabling automatic time adjustment, easier settings management and additional world-time functions.

At 72 g and just 11.9 mm thick, the G-Shock also packs in 200 m water resistance, five daily alarms, a stopwatch, countdown timer and dual LED illumination. Its Tough Solar system can keep it running for around seven months without further exposure to light, or up to 18 months in power-saving mode.
Casio's European website also lists the watch as new for November 2026, but has yet to confirm a price.
