Casio launches two new Oceanus Manta watches with natural mother-of-pearl dials

Casio has expanded its flagship luxury-sports Oceanus lineup with two new models. The new OCW-S7000PW-7A and OCW-S40PW-7A are designed to be worn together and come equipped with natural mother-of-pearl dials. They’re available for pre-order in Japan starting today, with official sales set to begin later this month.
The main highlight here is, of course, the white mother-of-pearl dial framed by a pearl-white sapphire glass bezel ring. The dial changes between soft white and subtle hints of color depending on how it catches light. Blue hands and the Oceanus logo complement the otherwise understated silver-and-white aesthetic nicely.
The cases and solid-link bracelets are made from titanium, treated with titanium carbide, while double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The OCW-S7000PW-7A is the larger and more feature-packed of the two. Its 42.8mm case houses a three-register chronograph dial, date display, and tachymeter bezel. It also gets Bluetooth connectivity, Multiband 6 radio timekeeping, Tough Solar charging, and world time across 27 cities.
The OCW-S40PW-7A is more compact and relatively simpler. It measures just 29.7mm across and opts for a cleaner three-hand layout with a date window. It retains solar charging, Multiband 6, and world time across 24 cities, but misses out on Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. And instead of a tachymeter bezel, it gets a city ring marked with major cities around the world, making it easier to keep track of the time across different time zones.
For the uninitiated, Oceanus is Casio's premium analog watch collection, sitting well above the brand's more accessible everyday offerings. The Manta range in particular offers a dressier, more refined take on the luxury-sports aesthetic, with slim titanium cases, meticulous finishing, and high-end quartz movements.
Pricing & Availability
The larger OCW-S7000PW-7A is priced at ¥236,500 (~$1,498) while the more compact OCW-S40PW-7A will set you back ¥198,000 (~$1,254). The duo is set to go on sale in Japan later this month, with international availability yet to be confirmed.
