Casio has launched the G-SHOCK GBD-300 smartwatch in the G-SQUAD line to track distance, pace, steps, and calories during marathons and workouts. A slimmer, more compact body design provides a better fit. Smartphones can log runs over Bluetooth connectivity using the G-SHOCK MOVE app.

Casio America has released the G-SHOCK GBD-300 smartwatch in the G-SQUAD line to track distance, pace, steps, and calories during marathons and workouts. The new watches feature a slimmer, more compact body than traditional models, with comfort enhanced by a textured band that prevents sticking due to sweat while ensuring a non-slip fit. The durable body is water resistant to 20 bar and uses two separate bezels to protect the main module from shocks that would damage ordinary watches.

The high-contrast, monochrome LCD display provides good visibility for the time, date, and alarms in daylight. Additional features include 4 alarms, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, and 38 world times. The memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD is protected by the raised bezel and can be automatically lit by the Super Illuminator LED light by a simple tilt of the wrist.

The health tracking features of the G-SHOCK GBD-300 include distance, speed, pace, and calories burned for up to a hundred runs. The selectable log view displays step count for each day of the week or running distance for the month.

Bluetooth low energy connectivity with smartphones enables notifications of calls, emails, calendar events, and social media posts. Notifications can be set to sound the alarm or vibrate the watch. Added capabilities using the G-SHOCK MOVE app include training plan creation, data logging, and GPS distance correction.

Besides taking a tough CASIO G-SHOCK watch on your next marathon, make sure you are wearing shock-absorbing running shoes (like these on Amazon). The new G-SQUAD GBD-300 series arrives in July in black (GBD-300-1), white (GBD-300-7), and yellow (GBD-300-9).

The GBD-300 measures 48.9 x 47.4 x 14.9 mm and weighs 60 grams. The watch runs two years on a CR2032 lithium battery. The shock-resistant watch is rated 20 bar for water resistance.

Casio to Release G-SHOCK with Workout Logs and More Comfortable Fit

Slim and Compact Design, Great for Everyday Use

Norderstedt, 18th of June 2024

Casio Europe announced today the release of the GBD-300, a new addition to the sports-driven G-SQUAD line in the G-SHOCK family of shock-resistant watches. These new watches feature a slim, compact profile that offers an even more comfortable fit, as well as handy functions for tracking running and other training regimens.

The G-SHOCK first came out in 1983, delivering on a passion to create a tough watch that would not break even if dropped. Ever since, Casio has continued to introduce functional, structural, and design advancements to the brand’s outstanding shock resistance. Stacked with data-tracking functions, the sports-driven G-SQUAD line in the G-SHOCK brand has proven very popular.

The new GBD-300 features a simple octagonal form in a slim, compact design that offers an even better fit on the wrist. This shock-resistant watch comes packed with handy sports-oriented functions that track distance, step count, and more. The slim profile is achieved with a shock-resistant structure that places the center case between two separate bezels. The back bumper bezel, with its bowl-shaped curvature wrapping around the case, not only boosts shock resistance, but also helps reduce contact with the back of the hand. The flexible covering placed on the underside where the soft urethane band meets the bezel follows the movement of the wrist when worn to deliver an even more comfortable fit. Parts of the band that come into contact with the skin feature a dotted texture. This prevents the band from slipping, as well as from sticking to the skin due to perspiration, to provide the ultimate comfort.

The GBD-300 comes with the following features amongst others:

Shock resistance

Bluetooth®

Solar operation (Tough Solar® by CASIO)

Training functions such as distance, speed and accelerometer

Pedometer and monthly data analysis

World time function

Stopwatch & 4 alarms

Phone finder

LED light

Water resistant up to 20 bar
