Black Shark launches new mobile controller with a split design

Black Shark, the Chinese brand known for its gaming phones, tablets, and accessories, has launched a new game controller for mobile devices. The gamepad, which has a split design, is one of a handful of products announced at its Black Shark 2026 Autumn launch event.
The Black Shark Rift Split Controller is designed for smartphones and tablets, but is also compatible with PCs and the Nintendo Switch consoles. While the gamepad wears the brand's signature black and green colors, it is obvious it is a rebadge of the Redmi GamePad that was released in 2025.
According to the specs sheet, the Black Shark Rift Split Controller features Hall Effect triggers and Hall Effect thumbsticks. The triggers are customizable as users can switch between linear and non-linear micro switch modes. It also has esports-grade micro switch action buttons with a 0.3mm travel and a lifespan of up to 5 million clicks.
Black Shark's new controller is customizable, too. Users can swap out the thumbstick caps for a set with a different height and replace the D-pad from the default circular one to a cross D-pad. Black Shark also includes spacers for raising the height of devices. The controller works with the Black Shark Arsenal app for modifying features such as joystick deadzones, button remapping, RGB customization, and upgrading the firmware.
Each half of the controller has a 600mAh battery, for a combined capacity of 1,200mAh. Black Shark says users should expect up to 10 hours of gameplay on a single charge and up to 14 hours in power saving mode. The controller ships with a braided USB cable that allows users to charge both halves of the controller simultaneously.
The Black Shark Rift Split Controller is available to buy now in China for CNY 379 (~$57/€51), which is cheaper than the CNY 499 (~$75/€67) price tag of Redmi's controller.
