Asus has updated one of its latest 14-inch laptops with a new variant. Adopting cheaper pricing, the ExpertBook A7 drops to $899 while retaining its impressive build quality, 120 Hz OLED display and up to 26 hours of battery life.

Earlier this month, Asus released the ExpertBook A7 with Intel Wildcat Lake processors. As we discussed at the time, the 14-inch laptop directly rivals the MacBook Air. Upon getting our hands on it, we discovered that the ExpertBook A7 is as well-built as the high-end ExpertBook Ultra (curr. $3,599 on Amazon).

At first, Asus launched the ExpertBook A7 exclusively with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, as well as Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 processors. Moreover, both variants feature a 500-nit and 120 Hz OLED display, while yielding up to 26 hours of battery life from their 65 Wh batteries. Initially, the ExpertBook A7 started at $1,299, with Asus charging $300 extra for a Core 7 350 processor.

Now, it has quietly added a signficantly cheaper variant on its US website. Specifically, the laptop can be configured with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for $899.99. Out of stock for now, this variant comes exclusively with a Core 5 320 processor and a Black finish. As far as we can tell, Asus has not made any other cutbacks to achieve its 30% and $400 cheaper pricing, though.

For the time being, we can only find Asus' new ExpertBook A7 variant listed on its US website. The company's global website reflects that 12 GB options are coming to other markets though, as are versions with 8 GB of RAM. Pricing for 8 GB of RAM SKUs remain unknown at the time of publication.
