The Strix SKT T1 Hero edition is made in collaboration with the SK Telecom T1 eSports team and comes with branded collectibles and a Faker signature on the palm rest, while the updated G703 sports a 4.3 GHz pre-overclocked i7-7820HK CPU.

As the interest for eSports grows from year to year, the gaming hardware and accessories market becomes more and more profitable for big Asian OEMs like Asus. Thus, the Republic of Gamers brand has grown to be one of the most important ones for Asus in the past several years. An integral part of the ROG brand is the gaming laptop lineup that gets expanded and updated every year. For this year, Asus has at least two new additions, which were announced at CES 2018: the Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition and the updated G703 models.

The Strix SKT T1 Hero is a limited edition made in collaboration with the eSports team SK Telecom T1, which includes branded collectibles such as a jersey, mouse pad and posters. The Display lid also comes with ta T1 team logo along with the ROG insignia, and the palm rest features the signature of League of Legends iconic player Faker. On the hardware side, there is an i7 quad-core CPU from Intel and a GTX 1060 GPU, along with a high quality 120 HZ IPS display. Another interesting feature is the gaming-grade keyboard that comes with full RGB backlights, N-key rollover and 20-million-keystroke durability. Asus mentioned that this gaming laptop model will be available some time in Q1 2018 for US$1,699.

This year’s G703 updated model comes with a 17-inch 144 Hz G-Sync display, and it is powered by a 4.3 GHz pre-overclocked i7-7820HK CPU, along with a GTX 1080 GPU that can boost to 1974 MHz. It also features NVMe storage, a full RGB keyboard and integrates an Xbox wireless connection for official Xbox controllers. This model is already available for US$3,499.
