The new ASUS TUF Gaming A14 and A16 gaming laptops have gone official at Computex 2024. Both the 14-inch and the 16-inch machines bring AMD’s next-gen Ryzen AI processors, new designs, better cooling, and more upgradability options. On the graphics side, the TUF 14 and TUF 16 rock NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs.

ASUS has unveiled the 14-inch TUF Gaming A14 and the 16-inch TUF Gaming A16 gaming laptops at Computex 2024 with a combination of AMD Ryzen AI processors and NVIDIA RTX 40 GPUs. Aside from the bigger display on the TUF A16, both laptops share a lot of hardware.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (FA608)

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 features a new chassis with 17.9 mm of thickness and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The chassis rocks a 10% larger touchpad and full-sized arrow keys, both of which are improvements over the current TUF Gaming A16 (Available on Amazon).

Completing the outside of the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, we are looking at:

  • Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
  • A USB 4 port with DisplayPort 2.1
  • A single USB 3.2 Type-C port with support for 100 W of Power Delivery
  • An RJ45 ethernet jack
  • An HDMI 2.1 out
  • A 3.5 mm combo jack

On the inside, the new ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors based on the Zen 5 architecture. ASUS is pairing the CPUs with up to an RTX 4070 laptop GPU and LPDDR5X-7500 memory. A better cooling solution with the second gen Arc flow fans and a full-width heat sink are responsible for taming the internals. Finally, the laptop contains a large 90 Wh battery.

Moving to the display, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 features a 16-inch panel with a 2.5K resolution, 400 nits of brightness, 3 ms of response times, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, ASUS claims that the panel covers 100% of the sRGB gamut.

Like the bigger ASUS TUF Gaming A16, the smaller ASUS TUF Gaming A14 also brings the new Ryzen AI processors to the mix alongside NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics and LPDDR5X-7500 memory. However, the ASUS TUF Gaming A14 has to make do with only an RTX 4060 laptop GPU at the top end, a smaller 73 Wh battery, and a total system TDP of 100 W (110 W in Turbo mode) vs 160W of its bigger brother.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A14 also features a new design with a thickness of 16.9 mm with the lid closed. The military-grade chassis houses a 14-inch display with thin bezels, an FHD webcam with support for Windows Hello, a glass touchpad, and a keyboard with 1.7 mm of travel.

On the display front, the ASUS TUF Gaming A14 matches its brother in everything but the size. So, the IPS panel is 14-inch diagonally with a 2.5K resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits of brightness, and 3 ms of response time. NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus also makes an appearance.

Finally, the notebook boasts:

  • A microSD card reader
  • Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports,
  • One Type-C USB 4 alongside a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports
  • An HDMI 2.1 and an audio jack
