The Apple A12Z Bionic graphics card is the integrated GPU in the Apple A12Z Bionic SoC in the 2020 iPad Pro models. It was designed by Apple and not licensed by PowerVR and should be based on the same architecture as the A12X and A12 GPUs with more cores. The A12Z offer 8 GPU cores, where the older A12X in the 2018 iPad Pro series offered 7. Interestingly, Apple did not choose to create a new variant of the current Apple A13 chip used in the iPhone 11 models.
The architecture should be similar to the older PowerVR graphics cards like the A10 GPU, but currently Apple is not disclosing any information about the architecture.
The performance should be slightly faster than the old iPad pro models and therefore significantly faster than the iPhone SoCs and Android competitors.
The chip should be still manufactured in 7nm at TSMC and offer a very good efficiency.
Qualcomm Adreno 643
► remove from comparison![Qualcomm Adreno 643](fileadmin/_processed_/f/b/csm_QCM6490_e07e22e2ee.jpg)
The Qualcomm Adreno 643 is an integrated graphics unit (iGPU) that is used in the Qualcomm QCM6490 and QCS6490. The SoC is not only intended for use in Android-based smartphones and tablets, but also for IoT products with Linux, Ubuntu or Windows 11 IoT Enterprise. In the QCM6490 and QCS6490 the 643 clocks at 812 MHz.
Qualcomm Adreno 619
► remove from comparisonThe Qualcomm Adreno 619 is a mobile graphics card for mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoCs and based on the Adreno 600 architecture (like the Adreno 630, which should be fully compatible in software).
The performance is 60% better compared to the Adreno 612 graphics card and in our benchmarks on par with the 700 series cards.
The GPU supports modern standards like Vulkan 1.0 (according to Wikipedia), OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 and DirectX 11 (FL 11_1).
