Xiaomi reveals new version of Bluetooth speaker with HyperOS
Xiaomi has launched a new version of the Bluetooth Speaker Mini in China. The first model was revealed earlier this year as a portable device for outdoor use. Plus, customers outside of the country can already import the product via Banggood.
The new version of the Bluetooth Speaker Mini comes in light brown, a second colorway alongside the original black. Otherwise, the two products appear to be identical. The speaker is said to offer a 360° sound experience via two full-range speakers and a passive radiator. It is worth noting that the output power is listed as 6W. You can link two units to create a stereo sound with HyperOS, NFC and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. There are built-in RGB lights, with effects controlled in the Mijia app, where you can also adjust sound-related settings. The 2,000mAh battery allows the speaker to run for up to 11 hours, recharging via USB-C. The portable gadget is compact, measuring 10.3 x 7.3 x 7.3 cm (~4.1 x 2.9 x 2.9 inches), weighs 330g (~11.6 oz), and is rated as IP67 dust and water-resistant.
You can currently buy the Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Mini in light brown in China for 199 yuan (~$27), the same price as the black version. It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi will officially launch this product in other markets like the EU or when it could be available via Bangood. In the meantime, customers in Germany could purchase the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Speaker MDZ-36-DB for around €50.99.
