Xiaomi Pad 7 series: New OLED tablets set to launch globally
Rumors much earlier in the year claimed Xiaomi was set to release the Xiaomi Pad 7 series imminently. Instead, the company launched the Pad 6S Pro shortly after. It appears, however, that the true successors to the Pad 6 (buy on Amazon) series are finally on the way, with new leaks now revealing some information on the lineup.
As revealed by a new report, Xiaomi has two tablets in the works: the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. Reportedly, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 7 bears the codename "uke" and internal model number "082". On a similar note, the Pad 7 Pro carries the codename "muyu" and is internally numbered as "081".
In addition, it's claimed that both tablets will launch globally, a move likely telegraphed by the Pad 6S Pro also debuting globally earlier this year. Supposedly, the Pad 7 will be available across the globe—including India. The Pad 7 Pro isn't expected to launch in India, however.
According to Kartikey Singh, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series will be Xiaomi's first OLED tablets, hinting at both models featuring OLED screens instead of LCDs as seen on previous entries in the lineup. The two tablets are mooted to launch alongside the Xiaomi 15 series, tentatively, in October.
