WhatsApp officially rolls reactions out as part of its latest update
WhatsApp remains a highly popular messaging service in many countries, although some users might find others such as Discord a better option in terms of features, while others might find those including Signal are superior in terms of privacy (or for a reputation thereof, at least). However, Meta's app has now caught up a little by rolling its long-awaited reactions feature out in its latest stable update.
Its users will thus be able to express how they feel about a given message by simply tacking a little emoji to it; then again, there is a choice of only 6 of these at present, all of which are on display in Mark Zuckerberg's recent post on the subject.
Those who do not care about reactions (regardless of their selection) may value WhatsApp's alternative new features more, however. Meta has also just announced that it will double the number of accounts that can be added to a single group: therefore, the new max population is 512 rather than 256.
Finally, WhatsApp has relaxed the constraints placed on the size of the files that can be attached to a message. This limit has been raised from the original 100MB to a much improved 2GB. Therefore, users can now add many more photos to a single point to potentially twice the recipients simultaneously in the hope of a narrow range of tiny icons in return.
