MagyarSony Xperia 10 VI revealed with design changes and fewer cameras than Xperia 10 V
It seems that Sony's sixth-generation Xperia smartphones are almost upon us. While the company has hinted at delivering an Xperia 'special event' in Japan later this month, it has not confirmed that any new smartphones are on the way. However, various sources have now offered a first look at the Xperia 10 VI through several promotional images, which will likely sit below the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 5 VI in Sony's sixth-generation product stack.
Incidentally, dozens of official-looking Xperia 1 VI product images have also recently surfaced online, details of which we have covered separately. As always, Sony's promotional images do not provide too many details about the Xperia 10 VI. Nonetheless, a few details can be teased out, including the removal of a dedicated zoom camera.
Like the Xperia 5 V (curr. $754 on Amazon) before it, the Xperia 10 VI relies on its primary camera to capture 2x zoom shots. Typically, this would be a lossy crop. With that being said, Sony could employ an in-sensor zoom instead for improved image clarity. Regardless, the Xperia 5 V was shown to capture fewer fine details than the Xperia 5 IV, the last Xperia 5 model to feature a dedicated telephoto camera module.
Moreover, the Xperia 10 VI has a 0.6x ultra-wide-angle camera, plus what appears to be a single front-facing camera. On top of that, the handset has larger camera rear-facing camera lenses, as a recent leak suggested. Furthermore, the Xperia 10 VI will retain a 3.5 mm jack, just like the Xperia 1 VI. Unfortunately, technical details remain unknown for now, although the publication of so many promotional images implies that it will not be long before these are leaked as well.
