With the MWC 2020 event officially called off, Realme has decided to launch its flagship, the Realme X50 Pro 5G, in an online event on February 24. The Realme X50 Pro 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, will feature 65W SuperDart fast charging, and will run on the new Realme UI OS based on Android 10.

During Qualcomm's Snapdragon summit at the end of last year, Realme announced that it will be among the first to offer smartphones powered by the Snapdragon (SD) 765G and 865 5G SoCs. With the Realme X50 5G launching in China last month, the company had hopes of gracing the MWC stage for the first time to unveil the Realme X50 Pro 5G on February 24. However, those plans have taken a backseat with the cancellation of the MWC 2020 event over coronavirus concerns.

In a press release, Realme said,

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, realme has been concerning about the effects and working on alternatives of all possible situations, including having planned our event undertaken by our European team based in Spain without any staff from China.

Keeping in light with the impact of the virus and the cancellation of MWC 2020, realme has decided to cancel the participation at MWC Barcelona 2020, accordingly. Our first 5G flagship smartphone realme X50 Pro 5G, originally planned to debut at the MWC, is going to be launched online globally in Madrid on February 24th. Our Vice President of realme and Chief Executive Officer of realme India, Mr. Madhav Sheth will join the launch and reveal our future AIoT plans.

Thanks for your understanding and support. We will announce the updated arrangements of realme X50 Pro 5G online launch event soon. Please stay tuned."

Even though the event stands cancelled, Realme will officially unveil the X50 Pro 5G via an online event. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC with dual-mode (NSA + SA) 5G support, an FHD+ display, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of internal storage, 65W SuperDart fast charging ability, and the new Android 10-based Realme UI OS.

In 2020, Realme hopes to be known as a "Popularizer of Tech Fashion and Fun" and as such, is expected to launch a slew of new smart devices this year catering primarily to the needs of young customers.
