The 4.6 TFLOPS Adreno X1-85 is a relatively powerful integrated graphics adapter that the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-84-100 CPU features. The underlying architecture is a little old, rendering the iGPU DirectX 12-compatible but not DirectX 12 Ultimate-compatible in spite of the ray tracing and VRS support. OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulcan 1.3 are supported, too, as are the popular AVC, HEVC and AV1 video codecs (both decoding and encoding).
The 4.6 TFLOPS of performance that the X1-85 supposedly delivers pale in comparison with the slowest professional current-generation Nvidia Ada graphics card for laptops, the RTX 500 Ada that is good for up to 9.2 TFLOPS. The highest monitor resolution supported is UHD 2160p rather than SUHD 4320p (Intel and AMD iGPUs have been offering the latter for a while).
The slower 3.8 TFLOPS Adreno X1-85 used in more affordable flavors of the Snapdragon X computing platform runs at much lower clock speeds while delivering the same features and having the same hardware configuration.
Performance
Based on the reviews of two systems featuring the 3.8 TFLOPS X1-85 Adreno GPU that Notebookcheck did in June 2024, it's safe to expect the 4.6 TFLOPS X1-85 to be about as good as the AMD Radeon 780M and the 10-core Apple M3 GPU, allowing it to handle many 2023 and 2024 games such as Baldur's Gate 3 at 1080p / Low.
