OnePlus Nord CE4 becomes AI Eraser smartphone via latest OxygenOS upgrade
The CE4 is the first Nord-series smartphone to debut with a ring-flash to go with its new Sony 50MP main rear shooter; now, it is also the first of its line to join more premium devices available outside China such as the 12 and the first-gen Open in supporting AI Eraser for its photos.
OnePlus has yet to specify whether the smartphone's new feature is in-house or comes direct from Google; however, as it is camera-related, the former is more likely. It is available as part of a new software upgrade, slated for an "incremental" roll-out as OxygenOS 14.0.1.427 for the CE4.
Unfortunately, however, the update is officially only available to the Indian market, just like the CE4 itself, which currently starts for INR 26,999 on Amazon.in.
Nevertheless, its latest upgrade, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3's apparent ability to support it, might bode well for the AI bragging rights of any other forthcoming OnePlus mid-rangers that might be released elsewhere throughout 2024.
