OPPO is now projected to add a new member to its K series of mid-range Android smartphones soon. However, its specs and looks might be less of a surprise than the OEM might hope, as they have already been introduced by another brand, OnePlus. Then again, the K12 should benefit from an in-demand Qualcomm processor, a decent amount of RAM and up-to-date software.

The Nord CE 4 is OnePlus' first new mid-range Android smartphone for the global market in 2024, and is now available on Amazon in India starting at INR 26,999 (~$323). Now, it is possible that it is about to get a twin for the Chinese market - albeit with a completely different name.

The K12 is now thought to be OPPO's Realme GT Neo6 SE to the CE 4's OnePlus Ace 3V. Then again, while the SE gets its own rear panel, it seems the allegedly newer device might not get so lucky. It will launch with the same ring flash-equipped rear panel as the Nord CE 4, according to prolific leaker Digital Chat Station.

It also has the same motherboard with the code-name crow and Android 14-based OS - presuming that the OPPO PJR110 spotted on Geekbench is in fact the upcoming K12, that is. Then again, it has leaked on there with 12GB of RAM, whereas the CE 4 made its appearance with just 8.

Nevertheless, both devices have accrued roughly similar single- and multi-core scores on the benchmark to date.
