New Garmin Fenix 7 update released with fresh bug fixes for flagship smartwatches
Garmin has delivered yet another beta update for the Fenix 7 (curr. $519.99 on Amazon - renewed), which is also available to other smartwatches like the Enduro 2, Epix 2 and MARQ 2. For some reason, the company does not acknowledge Beta Version 17.14, which it released a few days ago, in its changelog for Beta Version 17.15. Instead, it only lists the changes that Beta Version 17.15 makes from 'v16.22', the most recent stable update for the Fenix 7 series and its peers.
On the face of it, Beta Version 17.15 ships with sixteen changes, a similar number that Garmin claimed it made between Beta Version 17.12 and Beta Version 17.14. Upon closer inspection, it seems that Beta Version 17.15 lacks nine changes that Garmin included within Beta Version 17.12. On top of that, many of the sixteen changelog lines debuted with Beta Version 17.14.
As far as we can tell, Beta Version 17.15 actually offers three improvements over its predecessor. Specifically, Garmin claims to have addressed potential shutdowns that could occur on the navigate page and Daily Suggested Workout menus. Additionally, the Beta Version 17.15 changelog mentions a fix for 'random shutdowns' that may have occasionally surfaced 'throughout the day'. Unfortunately, Garmin has not revealed any more details about this change. Please see its forum post for installation guidance.
