Motorola reveals details about rumoured Edge 50 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and periscope zoom camera
A few days ago, Motorola hinted that it would soon be introducing new Edge smartphones following the release of the Edge 50 Pro in India. In short, it seemed that the company was preparing to deliver models globally this time rather than only in one market. While we speculated that Motorola may only expand Edge 50 Pro availability, there has been plenty of evidence to suggest that it has also developed the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra.
To that end, the company has now teased the release of the latter, which will be powered by Qualcomm's nascent Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Incidentally, the Edge 50 Ultra was recently spotted on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which Xiaomi already offers in the CIVI 4 Pro and Redmi Turbo 3. Although, Motorola does not name the Edge 50 Ultra in any of its recent tweets, that which it has shown of the device matches leaked promotional images.
For example, Motorola's teaser above reveals that its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered device features a periscope zoom camera, as well as two other rear-facing cameras sat within a satin-looking housing. Additionally, the company's choice of colour appears to be a nod to the Pantone 'Peach Fuzz' colour in which the Edge 50 Ultra will be available. For reference, Motorola is expected to sell the device in Black and Sisal colours too, the former of which has a vegan leather finish. Motorola will present its next Edge series handsets on April 16, which is also the same day when it will release the Moto G64.
