Motorola Edge 50 Pro: New 5G mid-range smartphone released globally with free pair of Moto Buds Plus earbuds
Motorola has now brought the Edge 50 Pro global audiences, having debuted the device last month in India. Based on the company's German and UK product pages, it has trimmed down its Edge 50 Pro offering for its global release. In summary, the device contains the following hardware, which Motorola packs within a 161.23 x 72.4 x 8.19 mm and 186 g housing:
- 6.7-inch pOLED display, 2,712 x 1,220 resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset
- UFS 2.2 flash storage/LPDDR4X RAM
- 4,500 mAh battery, 125 W wired and 50 W wireless charging
- 50 MP primary (OIS), 13 MP ultra-wide-angle, 10 MP telephoto (3x telephoto), 50 MP front-facing cameras
Additionally, Motorola pre-installs Android 14 overlaid with its My UX software skin. For some reason, Motorola has decided against selling the Edge 50 Pro's 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage entry-level memory configuration outside India. As a result, the Edge 50 Pro comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, regardless of whether you choose its Black Beauty, Luxe Lavender or Moonlight Pearl colour options.
The Edge 50 Pro is the only of Motorola's new Edge series smartphones that is actually orderable now. However, the device has not yet reached North America. Instead, Motorola has made a somewhat vague commitment to 'expanding the edge family in North America this year'. Conversely, the Edge 50 Pro is available in the UK for £599.99 and €699 in the Eurozone. Motorola adds that the handset will reach Asia, Latin America and Oceania at some stage, too. Incidentally, Motorola will bundle a pair of Moto Buds Plus earbuds in Europe and the UK, full details of which you can find on the Edge 50 Pro product page.
