Meizu 21x tipped to launch as Android smartphone with largest battery of its series to date
Having declared that it was done with conventional smartphones not long ago, Meizu's next product is now tipped to launch as...another new smartphone. It is believed to belong to the flagship 21 series, although it might aim for a lower price-point with a 2023 chipset and last-gen wired charging specs. Then again, it may also beat its alleged siblings in terms of battery size.
Not quite 2 months after giving us all the impression of having finally given up on the Android smartphone market, Meizu is now said to give it at least 1 more go with a new mobile device - albeit one that is not the top-end 21 Infinity from previous leaks.
The alleged spiritual successor to the 16x might have a new name, yet have at least some things in common with the 20 series thanks to its former flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
Then again, the "21x" is also backed to bring something new to Meizu: its first 5,500mAh battery. Accordingly, the smartphone might stay on for longer than the 21 Pro at 5,050mAh and definitely the 21 at just 4,800mAh, although it may not be quite as sleek and streamlined as either.
These new rumors are based on the appearance of a device called the Meizu M468Q on the 3C database, which suggests that it will indeed launch with its 20V/3.3A tech (as opposed to ~20V/4A in the 21 and 21 Pro) soon.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
