MSI introduces affordable gaming monitor with 160 Hz 4K panel and USB-C in white color
The new MSI MAG 274URFW has a white housing and stand - quite unusual for a gaming monitor. The space-saving stand can be adjusted in height by up to 13 centimeters and also supports a pivot function to use the monitor in portrait mode.
MSI installs a 27-inch Fast IPS panel that achieves a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a frame rate of 160 Hz, including support for VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium to prevent image tearing. The VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification guarantees a full-surface brightness of at least 400 nits. The panel can display 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, 93% of the Adobe RGB color space, and even 133% of sRGB.
As is now standard for gaming monitors, the MAG 274URFW also supports a range of overlays, for example, to display a crosshair or a scope in the middle of the screen without being detected by anti-cheat software. An AI feature is designed to brighten up dark areas in the image in order to better recognize opposing players in the shadows.
The screen has a matt surface. The monitor has two HDMI 2.1 connections with a bandwidth of 48 Gbit/s, which are perfect for use with consoles, such as the Sony PS5 (approx. 400 euros on Amazon). There is also a DisplayPort 1.4a and a USB-C, although this can only provide 15 watts of power to connected devices.
Prices and availability
The MSI MAG 274URFW gaming monitor will be launched in China at a price of 2,499 yuan (approx. 321 euros) however, the manufacturer has not yet provided any information on a possible international launch.
