A few months have passed since TFTCentral shared details about the MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED, a monitor that shares much of its model number with the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED (curr. $687.23 - used on Amazon). For context, although MSI announced the MAG 341CQP earlier this year, it relies on an old Gen 1 QD-OLED panel. Additionally, the MAG 341CQP debuted alongside the MPG 271QRX and MPG 321URX, among other monitors. The MPG 271QRX and MPG 321URX utilise newer Gen 3 QD-OLED panels though, which contain all the enhancements of Gen 2, plus the Quantum Enhancer and Pico inkjet process improvements of Gen 3.
Likewise, the MPG 341CQPX features a different generation QD-OLED panel than the MAG 341CQP. However, the MPG 341CQPX should not be considered 'Gen 2.5', as Samsung Display previously led the likes of TFT Central to believe. Instead, the monitor lacks at least the updated pixel layout present in Gen 2 QD-OLED panels that introduced improved text clarity.

As such, the MPG 341CQPX has more of a 'Gen 1.5' QD-OLED panel, as does the new Acer Predator X34 X5. Consequently, the MPG 341CQPX only surpasses the MAG 341CQP in a few areas. On the one hand, the former has a 240 Hz refresh rate, compared to 175 Hz for the latter. On the other hand, it is VESA ClearMR 13000 certified, compared to VESA ClearMR 9000 for the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED.
With that being said, the MPG 341CQPX matches the MAG 341CQP with an 1800R curvature, a 3,440 x 1,440-pixel resolution, 0.03 ms GtG response times and 250 nits peak SDR brightness. Please note that MSI also claims that the MPG 341CQPX achieves 450 nits when viewing HDR content (10% APL) and 1,000 nits across 3% of its display. MSI has priced the MPG 341CQPX at $899.99, $100 more than the list price of the MAG 341CQP. It is unclear when MSI will begin selling the MPG 341CQPX, though.
