Latest Galaxy Fold 2 leaks: outer and inner display detailed specs, S-Pen support in the books after all
Display industry insider Ross Young recently provided additional specs for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Fold 2. In a series of tweets posted over the past 24 hours, Young details the specs for the foldable’s inner and outer screens, which are in line with the previous leaks. However, Young points out that the Fold 2 will actually feature S-Pen support, unlike some Korean sources that were claiming to the contrary.
As far as the outer display is concerned, Young reports that its size has been increased to 6.23 inches, with a maximum supported resolution of 2,267 x 819. Like all premium devices made by Samsung, the Fold 2 will integrate AMOLED displays, and the refresh rate for the outer display is set to 60 Hz. Samsung even considered adding an in-display camera for the outer screen, but this technology still needs more testing, so it will most likely be introduced with next year’s Galaxy S models. As such, the outer and inner screens on the Fold 2 will feature punch-hole cameras.
The size on the inner display has also been increased to 7.59 inches. This screen will have a 2,213 x 1,689 resolution with 372 DPI, and the refresh is upped to 120 Hz. It will also integrate Samsung’s ultra-thin glass layer featured on the Galaxy Z Flip. If the Fold 2 does indeed support S-Pens, it might create some disruption for the Galaxy Note sales.
Ross Young is expected to release additional Galaxy Fold 2 details regarding cameras, pricing and launch dates by next week.
