The Huawei FreeClip (curr. $245 on Amazon) has been around for a few months at this point, having debuted in mid-December 2023. Initially, the company sold its open earbuds in black and purple colours, the former of which also carries a matte finish. However, it has now quietly expanded its FreeClip offering with a third colour option that it simply calls 'beige'.
In isolation, the release of a new colour option for a pair of recent earbuds may seem unusual. The arrival of a FreeClip refresh coincides with a wider Huawei launch event, which includes the FreeBuds 6i, MatePad 11.5"S and a new Watch GT 4 variant, among other devices. Fundamentally, FreeBuds remains unchanged from its original release, though.
Hence, the earbuds are sweat resistant, support Huawei's 'leakproof sound technology' and are rated for up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. It is also worth noting that the FreeClip's design allows them to be placed in either ear, unlike conventional earbuds. The new beige colour option is already available in multiple markets, such as Europe and the UK, where it typically sells for €199 and £179.99, respectively. With that being said, Huawei has discounted all colour options in the UK to £159.99 until June 11th.
