Huawei Vision Smart Screen 4 SE: Relatively inexpensive 4K Smart TV launches with integrated FHD webcam reminiscent of EyeToy

The Huawei Smart Vision 4 SE is a new TV from Huawei. The model comes with a decent range of features. Rather unusual: Huawei has also installed a camera - this is said to have a Full HD resolution and an F2.2 aperture. The support for video calls, in particular, is advertised however, it should also be possible to play games. This approach is reminiscent of the EyeToy camera for the PlayStation, although the games are likely to remain at a similar, rather simple level. Karaoke is also to be supported.

The TV is available in three sizes, namely with a 55, 65, and 75-inch panel. These are all LCD screens, which should be able to reproduce the BT.709 color space fully. The native refresh rate is apparently 60 Hz, although this can be doubled using a special technology. This function is unlikely to match the quality of a native 120 Hz panel.

The typical brightness of the smallest model is 240 cd/m², while the two larger models achieve 280 cd/m². It means the display of HDR content, for example, is unlikely to meet high expectations. HarmonyOS 4.2 is installed and the internal memory amounts to 32 GB. An integrated sound system consists of two speakers, and there are two HDMI inputs, plus a USB and an antenna input. An optical audio output is available and the device can be connected to a network via WiFi or Ethernet. The entry-level price in the home market of China is around 322 euros; it is unlikely that the global model will be released.
