Get 3 months of XBox Game Pass when you buy an AMD Radeon graphics card or Ryzen processor
AMD will be launching its RDNA-based Radeon RX 5700 GPU series and 3rd gen Zen 2 Ryzen desktop CPU series this week to further dent Intel's dominance in the PC market and challenge Nvidia in the mid-tier to high-tier gaming sector. To sweeten the deal and drive sales of some older GCN GPUs and 2nd gen Zen CPUs, the red chipmaker will be including a complementary three-month subscription to XBox Game Pass for PC when purchasing select Radeon or Ryzen products.
The full list of qualified products are as follows:
- Radeon VII
- Radeon RX Vega 64 or 56
- Radeon RX 590, 570, or 560
- Ryzen 7 2700X or 2700
- Ryzen 5 2600X, 26000E, or 2600
- Ryzen 5 2500X
- Ryzen 5 2400G oR 2400GE
The catch is that users must purchase from select online retailers as listed here. For users in the United States, this includes just four outlets - Computer Upgrade King, CyberPowerPC, CybertronPC, and Xotic PC - with surprisingly no mention of Newegg, Best Buy, or Amazon. The participating retailer will send XBox Game Pass coupon codes to customers for them to redeem on amdrewards.com.
The promotion will last from July 1, 2019 to March 10, 2020 or until supply ends. Unlike Microsoft XCloud, Game Pass grants subscribers a range of games to download and play locally without relying on remote servers or streaming bandwidth. The service will launch on PC in a beta state on July 9th, 2019.
