Genesis Cube debuts as first mini PC with 80W AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS

Chinese manufacturer Metaphyuni has launched the Genesis Cube mini PC with Ryzen 7 8845HS. This isn't the first mini computer to feature the processor, but it's the first to sport the CPU with an optional 80W TDP mode, which prioritizes performance over noise and temperature.

Of course, even with the mini PC at the highest performance setting, Metaphyuni claims that the system noise won't cross 48 dB, while the temperature is said not to pass 88° C. There are two other modes that this Ryzen 7 8845HS-equipped system can operate in.

One of them is the default setting, which puts the TDP to 45W, and it's the one that allows the mini PC to operate at around 31 dB and 61° C. The other puts the processor at 65W TDP, and Metaphyuni says that the Genesis Cube shouldn't cross 82° C and 38 dB with this mode.

Getting back to the 80W TDP mode, Metaphyuni could make this possible by equipping the Genesis Cube with a dual-fan cooling design. Both fans are paired with a custom copper cooling system, which is said to use a phase-changing thermal material.

The 80W TDP performance mode isn't the only highlight of the mini PC. Genesis Cube also comes with a generous number of connectivity ports. Among them are one OCuLink and two USB4 ports. These make the system suitable for eGPU setups.

Pricing-wise, Metaphyuni is selling the Genesis Cube at a starting price of CNY 3899 (about $536). Given that the company doesn't have a global presence, it's unlikely that this mini PC will see an international debut.
