New evidence of a more premium alternative to the Galaxy Z Fold6 has appeared online. Codenamed 'Q6A', the device appears set for Chinese and South Korean releases as the W25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, respectively.

Android Headlines has reignited rumours that Samsung is preparing to release two successors to last year's Galaxy Z Fold5 (curr. $1,059.99 - renewed on Amazon). To recap, several generally reliable sources have assertions in the last few months that Samsung was working to deliver not just the Galaxy Z Fold6, pictured below, but also a device called the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra under the codename 'Q6A'. However, any claims were subsequently squashed by Evan Blass, who stated last month that the company had only developed 'Q6' and 'B6, codenames for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, respectively.

For reference, the former recently appeared on Geekbench bearing the model number 'SM-F956' before adding any regional suffixes like 'B' 'N' or 'U', among others. By contrast, evidence already has emerged of 'SM-F958N', an entirely different model whose model number implies Samsung's plans to offer it in South Korea. Additionally, Android Headlines has discovered a new IMEI listing for 'SM-W9025' that is associated with the model number 'Q6A'.

Based on recent releases, SM-W9025 relates to the W series, which Samsung last refreshed in September 2023 with the W24 and W24 Flip. Ultimately, these are just Chinese versions of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, respectively, with unique colour options and ceramic back designs. Nonetheless, the appearance of SM-W9025 linked to 'Q6A' suggests that Samsung may introduce something like the W25 Ultra, as Android Headlines theorises. At any rate, it seems that the company's mythical 'Q6A' smartphone may only receive a limited release, potentially just in China and South Korea.
