First details on Assassin's Creed Hexe leaked: dark witch setting, magical powers and more

Following last week's leak of the supposed real name of Assassin's Creed Codename Red which is expected to be released at the end of 2024, the first details of the AC game that will be released after that have now been leaked: Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe.

The information comes from well-known industry insider Tom Henderson, who has often been right with his predictions in the past and is considered a credible source. As reported in a YouTube video on the topic, Insider Gaming received leaked footage from Codename Hexe with the stipulation that the material not be published.

First female main protagonist with magical powers

Assassin's Creed Hexe is said to have a dark witch setting and is set in 16th century in Central Europe - presumably in the Roman Empire. At this time, the burning of witches was at its peak. And of course, players will take on the role of a witch in the new AC spin-off.

As you might expect, Assassin's Creed Hexe focuses on a female protagonist named Elsa. Henderson reports on a scene in which Elsa uses magic to take over the body of a cat and distract soldiers. This would make her the first Assassin's Creed female main protagonist with magical abilities.

According to Henderson, Assassin's Creed Hexe will have a fear system to match the eerie witch setting, as fans already know it from the "Jack The Ripper" DLC of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Through threats or particularly brutal takedowns, players can instill so much fear in their opponents that they run away.
