Energizer at MWC19: 26 phones, 18,000 mAh batteries, pop-up cameras, and even a foldable device
Forget Samsung and put Huawei to the back of your mind. It seems it could be Energizer, in conjunction with the French company Avenir, that will be amazing people at MWC19 Barcelona. With 26 new phones on show, there could be something for everyone among the line-up. Along with the aforementioned foldable smartphone, Energizer will also be generating interest with a device sporting a massive 18,000 mAh battery and showing off some phones with pop-up camera solutions.
Pop-up cameras are not a new idea and the solution doesn’t seem to have stuck with the majority of OEMs. But Energizer possibly feels there is some mileage in this novel approach, and therefore the company will be presenting the Energizer Ultimate U630S Pop and the U620S Pop as part of its Ultimate range. Neither device has an 18,000 mAh battery, but they do come with original dual selfie pop-up cameras (16 MP + 2MP).
Both pop-up camera smartphones operate on MediaTek Helio chipsets – P70 for the U620S Pop and P22 for the U630S Pop. Appropriately enough for Energizer, there’s also an incredible battery in one of these new 26 models. The company has experience with mighty phone batteries, its Power Max P550S has a 5,000 mAh cell, but an 18,000 mAh battery capacity seems almost ridiculous. It will be fascinating to see what the device that houses that monster actually looks like.
