A leak from a Dutch carrier has supposedly confirmed that Samsung's latest Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on the 10th of July. Consumers can expect to see a bunch of very high-end devices — the Galaxy Z Flip6, Z Fold6, Watch7, Buds3, and the new Galaxy Ring. Adding some color to an otherwise fairly ordinary event is the fact that Samsung will unleash its innovative new products in Paris shortly before the start of the Summer Olympics.

For several weeks, rumors have been surfacing regarding Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event. But now, it seems that we finally know the date of this year's Unpacked for certain. The event will be placed against the background of preparations for the Summer Olympics, set to commence on the 26th of July. Being an official sponsor of the Olympics, Samsung is ready to capitalize on its association with the high-profile sporting event in order to create a lot of awareness and visibility for its new products among Olympics fans in the world.

Although Samsung has not officially announced the date of its second Unpacked event in 2024, we now have an almost official data on when it will happen thanks to mobiel.nl, a Dutch website that shared a teaser for an upcoming marketing campaign (including an early bird offer as well as an opportunity to win a Harman Kardon speaker). This teaser spills the beans in a fairly unequivocal manner – the date, July 10th, and a cluster of stars are hiding in plain sight.

The lineup expected

Samsung will launch numerous new products during its upcoming Unpacked event. Here is a list of what can be expected from the Korean company this time:

  1. Galaxy Z Flip6: A new version of Samsung's popular foldable flip phone (currently $849 on Amazon.com) with improvements expected in durability, visual design, and functionality.
  2. Galaxy Z Fold6: An evolution of the pioneering foldable phone, likely coming with screen technology upgrades and a performance boost.
  3. Galaxy Watch7: A new smartwatch from Samsung with advanced health monitoring capabilities and tighter integration with other Galaxy devices.
  4. Galaxy Watch Ultra: This is supposedly a higher-end variant of the standard Galaxy Watch, said to be designed to rival Apple's top-of-the-line Watch Ultra. It may be fitted out with superior materials and unique features.
  5. Galaxy Buds3: The newest addition to Samsung's lineup of wireless earbuds will be touting higher-quality sound and noise-canceling tech.
  6. Galaxy Ring: This smart ring, aimed at health and fitness tracking, is the newest entrant to the world of wearables, marking Samsung's expansion plans for the growing market segment.

Unpacking leaks, one at a time

The teaser from mobiel.nl is definitely not the first leak pointing to July 10. A well-known leaker Evan Blass has already posted an image of a countdown timer ending on July 10th at 10 PM KST; Ishan Agarwal has weighted in as well. July 10, 10 PM KST translates to:

  • 9:00 AM Eastern Time
  • 6:00 AM Pacific Time
  • 3:00 PM Central European Time
  • 2:00 PM in London
  • 11:00 PM in Sydney
  • 6:30 PM in New Delhi
  • 9:00 PM in Beijing
  • 10:00 PM in Tokyo

Samsung seems to care a lot about having the launch happen at the same time around the world.

A look back at January's Unpacked event

Samsung held its first Unpacked event this year on January 17, it launching new models of its flagship phone series — the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. They came with a set of AI features called the Galaxy AI aiming to greatly improve user experience and thus make more sales.
