Cybertruck deliveries on hold over safety issue — reports point to accelerator pedal, Tesla mum on delivery delay
It seems as though Tesla can't catch a break with the Cybertruck. Just last week, Notebookcheck reported about Cybertruck owners experiencing catastrophic failures shortly after taking delivery, and now Tesla has reportedly placed a hold on all Cybertruck deliveries, pending a part replacement due to safety concerns.
As reported by The Cybertruck Guy and multiple other accounts on X (formerly Twitter), Tesla has seemingly placed a seven-day hold on all Cybertruck orders to resolve a part safety issue. This will involve replacing the relevant parts on all of the affected Cybertrucks in the production queue, which might be a monumental task, given the massive swathes of Cybertrucks seen waiting in recent Tesla gigafactory drone footage.
More frustrating for potential Cybertruck buyers is that there doesn't seem to be an official consensus on what the problem with the Cybertruck is. Many reports claim that the affected component is related to the accelerator pedal or its cover, but there is also a Cybertruck service advisory mandating a replacement of the steering column control module [PDF].
According to one user on X, Tesla's own service centres don't even have a clear picture as to why the Cybertruck production is on hold, and of course, Tesla famously isn't very communicative with the press, making it difficult to shut down speculation about the production pause.

As of today, it appears Tesla has placed a hold on ALL Cybertruck deliveries nationwide.

This is a proactive safety-related pause. All trucks are stopped in their current position.
