Black Shark: Outdoor smartwatch from the Xiaomi ecosystem a potential rival to Garmin and the like

GS3: New rugged smartwatch with powerful features
Black Shark has a new robust smartwatch in the pipeline, the GS3, which looks more or less like a typical outdoor smartwatch and is thus likely to be robust.

We have reported on Black Shark before, a company that offers various products ranging from gamepads, earphones, earbuds, smartphone coolers to smartwatches. The company has just teased the new Black Shark GS3, which is likely to be a particularly durable smartwatch intended for the outdoors.

The company has only published a product image so far, which shows the Black Shark GS3 from two different angles and in two colors. You can see that the smartwatch is equipped with physical controls on the right-hand side, but has none on the left-hand side. Two buttons are clearly visible, and there is likely to be a rotating crown in between for menu navigation.

As the watches appear to be intended for the outdoors, it is very likely that they are resistant to damage from dust and water. However, it is unclear whether they are waterproof up to a certain level and thus suitable for swimming without restrictions.

The design is not atypical for such smartwatches, with four screws clearly visible. The range of functions is also still unclear. An outdoor smartwatch of this kind is likely to have its own GNSS module, and the sensors that are now obligatory for smartwatches, such as those for heart rate measurement, are likely to be on board. When and at what price the Black View GS3 will be launched remains unclear, and there is also no specific information on a global launch.
