Asus releases two new WiFi 7 routers with AI functions and high-speed Ethernet ports

Asus launches two new routers within its TUF series. With these, the manufacturer is targeting video gamers. Users should not only benefit from a fast and wireless connection but high-performance wired networks are also supported depending on the model version.

Asus also offers routers in this country. Under the TUF brand, the manufacturer wants to offer products, especially for video gamers who want to benefit from a high data transfer rate and transmission quality even with a wireless connection. The company is now offering two new routers in China.

The TUF Little Tornado Pro BE6500 is the more expensive and, therefore, better-equipped model. The advantages of this model will primarily be evident in wired networks. The router supports several Ethernet ports with a maximum data transfer rate of 2.5 GBit/s. As a rule, this faster connection is not necessarily relevant when accessing the Internet; instead, fast network storage devices, for example, can make better use of their data transfer rate. A different processor is installed, so a Qualcomm SoC is used instead of a Broadcom — the four processing cores clocked at 1.5 GHz.

The TUF Little Tornado BE3600 already differs visually from the Pro model. The BE3600 only has four antennas, while the BE6500 has six. Both routers support the new WiFi 7 standard. This should also bring advantages when used in densely populated areas. The BE3600 only has a single 2.5-GBit/s Ethernet port. The maximum wireless connection speed for BE3600 is said to be 3600 MBit/s and unsurprisingly 6,500 MBit/s for the BE6500. AI functions are advertised, for example for setting up a mesh network. The routers will be launched in China for the equivalent of around 65 and 103 euros respectively. Information on the availability of global models is not yet available.
