Amazfit Active smartwatch gets Zepp OS 3.5 with many new features
The Amazfit Active smartwatch has received a new update, version 5.0.6.1, bringing Zepp OS 3.5 to the wearable. The latest OS has arrived ahead of schedule; when the rollout of the new OS was first announced, Amazfit suggested that the Active smartwatch would receive the update from June 20th. It is not the first model to receive Zepp OS 3.5, with the Balance smartwatch upgraded in many countries earlier this year.
Software version 5.0.6.1 has a range of new features, including the Zepp Flow intelligent assistant, which supports interactions in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German. Users connecting to Android devices can use voice commands to reply to WhatsApp messages, and WhatsApp image messages are now supported. There are new mini-apps like Bluetooth Thermometer and Bluetooth Blood Pressure Monitor, and two new workout types have been added: climbing and hiking. Plus, Track Run mode now allows greater customization of laps and tracks.
Amazfit has also teased a new Soft Rose nylon strap for models like the Active smartwatch. According to the company, the band is very light, has a luxurious texture and is suitable for any wearable that takes a 20 mm strap. It is unclear when this new strap will go on sale and how much it will cost.
