Accidental listing confirms 14 new Asus laptops with AMD Strix Point Zen 5 APUs

Asus has accidentally listed the model numbers of its upcoming AMD Strix Point laptops. According to the listing, the company is preparing a total of 14 models with the new Zen 5 mobile APUs. While official details are yet to emerge, we learned from a recent Lenovo ThinkPad leak that the new processors will be under the Ryzen 8050 name.

This naming makes sense, as AMD has previously confirmed that all the products released in 2024 will be within the 8000 series. As for the "5" in 8050, it's referring to the new Zen 5 architecture. Previously shared details by AMD confirmed that the Strix Point processors will have upgraded XDNA 2 NPU.

It promises to deliver three times faster performance than the NPU found in the current Hawk Point (Ryzen 8040) lineup. AMD will likely share more details at the upcoming Computex 2024 event, which is set for next month.

Getting back to the new Asus laptops, Chinese media outlet IT Home reports that all the "W" models in the accidental listing have the new Strix Point APUs. On the other hand, the "U" models will reportedly come with current Hawk Point processors (ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop curr. $1,349.99 on Best Buy). Here's a breakdown from the deleted listing:
