AOC unveils AGON PRO gaming monitor with 540 Hz refresh rate for €699
AOC has released plenty of gaming monitors under its AGON PRO brand lately, the most expensive of which remains the AGON PRO PD49. Now, the company has turned to delivering monitors with exceedingly high refresh rates, which could be of use to the likes of Esports players. Specifically, the company has introduced the AGON PRO AG246FK, a 24.1-inch example that utilises a TN panel.
As a result, the AGON PRO AG246FK may have a high refresh rate, but it also provides relatively narrow viewing angles. Based on AOC's specifications, it seems that the AGON PRO AG246FK relies upon the same panel as the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP and BenQ Zowie XL2586X. Consequently, the AGON PRO AG246FK outputs at 540 Hz with a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) native resolution.
Moreover, the monitor delivers 0.2 ms GtG response times while providing support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies to mitigate image tearing. On top of that, the AGON PRO AG246FK boasts 400 nits peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and full sRGB colour space coverage. Meanwhile, image output is handled by a single DisplayPort and twin HDMI ports. Currently, AOC is expected to deliver the AGON PRO AG246FK is scheduled to reach Europe in July for €699, which would make it much cheaper than the ROG Swift PG248QP (curr. $880 on Amazon). Incidentally, AOC has created the AGON PRO AG256FS too, full details of which we have covered separately.
